Why do people buy Fake Chanel ?
It is a beautiful, sunny day and the wind has just picked up the scent of my perfume as I walked by a group of women. One of them asked, ‘what is that wonderful perfume, you are wearing?’ I said ‘Channel’, and she said, ‘is that a new one?’ What I was wearing was one that she had worn for many years; however, she did not recognize the scent.
What we don’t realize when we wear the knock-off products, is that there are those who are very familiar with the scent, the articles of clothing, jewelry and other products Channel makes, but are not originals.
There are so many people who can not afford the pricey products Channel offers, and are left searching for knock-off products to make them feel good about themselves, as though they need a certain type of validation for self.
Of course, there are other reasons, as any mother of a teenage girl will attest too. If, for instance, you leave early for work, and your Channel are left unguarded, that little girl could, and usually does, go through your jewelry box, and wardrobe looking for something that will make her stand apart from the rest. The last thing that mother wants is for her daughter to lose one of those expensive pieces in a school gym, locker room or somewhere along the way. The mother’s best bet is to purchase Channel fakes. A least, until the girl reaches the age of non-interest and/or finds her own sense of style. Pretty smart, I think.
A lesson for us all is, not to worry about who makes the products, as long as we remain within our budgets. For those single women, it is a different matter. These women are forced by society to represent a look that surpasses that of the single woman next to her. The competition for acceptance is thick, and it is not going to get any better until we decide, it just does not matter. We can wear whatever we like, and if the fashion society wants us not to seek Channel fakes, all they have to do is make their products affordable for everyone. Sounds easy does it not?
The problem is, the overhead of these large fashion houses is so enormous; they had to find a group to cater to, who wouldn’t blink at, let us say, a $500, half-ounce bottle of perfume. If they were to distribute the fragrance into a million bottles for $50, they would be able to gross a lot more. Do you think that will happen? Not a chance. The egos of the fashion industry are almost god-like. They strut around like peacocks, controlling the way we see ourselves, and force us to define ourselves by their standards. That does not sound like something a well-grounded individual would accept. Until they arrive at a Macy’s or Bloomingdales, (Is that still around?). All good sense goes out the window when faced with a counter person who questions your buying power. What do we do then? Buy whatever they recommend.
If you find a fake Channel product, it would not hurt you to take advantage of it; perhaps the buying power of the consumer will force these large conglomerates to remember what it was like to start out. There were no Rolls-Royces in the beginning were there?
