Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue

Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue, or is it?

Dolce and Gabbana Light blue was introduced 2001

The sales quickly resembled those of the first Dolce & Gabbana perfume, and became a best seller. Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue consists of Sicilian citron, granny smith apple, bluebells, jasmine, bamboo, white rose, cedar wood, amber and musk.

What are people saying about Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue?

“Its scent is refreshing and invigorating.”–“I use it all the time now.”

Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue has such a clean, fresh and spring like scent, I love it.”

“I like it so well, I bought Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue pour homme for my husband”.

Now after hearing the statements of how wonderful the scent of D&G Light Blue, I was a little dismayed to hear the total opposite from others who had tried what they thought was the same product. The one basic line was repeated by most as;

“It stunk so bad, I’m glad the scent did not last long.”

Could it be they had not really tried Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue at all; but an imposter instead?

There are some noticeable differences in the packaging in some known knockoffs. I wonder if the packaging was noted by those who claim to not like Light Blue.

Package details

Authentic box has a soft, velvety feel with a frosted blue color. It is not a flat blue, but a definite two-tone blue

The perfume comes in a 3.3 oz not the 3.4 the imitator is pushing.

On the back of the box, it mentions the product can be sold by,”authorized Dolce and Gabbana retailers”.  If the word “dealers” is used, this may not be an authentic product.

Also on the back of the box, it has been noted that that the ingredients list on the original will only take up one-forth of the bottom portion of the box, unlike the other taking up the whole back side of the box. It’s a good idea to see if the batch number on the box matches the batch number on the bottle.

The nose know

The basic complaint regarding a known fake was that the scent did not last long. Well, where did I hear that before?

For the most part, users will either really like the scent of Dolce Gabanna Light Blue or they will hate it and swear to never purchase it again. (I suspect a fake) One woman complained that her skin broke out in a rash.

I can certainly see the downside to getting an imposter whether it was intentional due to a “you can’t tell the difference” discount on price, or purely accidental on the buyer’s part. Imitation may be a form of flattery, but in this case, I will have to disagree.

In order to make sure you are buying the authentic scent of Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue, be cautious of where you make your purchase and check out the packaging yourself before you buy.
